Johnson had previously dated the victim before she began dating Barker, who allegedly became enraged upon learning she may have been physically abused by Takazato, according to the prosecutor who filed the case last year. The criminal complaint alleges that Barker used a knife during the commission of the crime.

Takazato is the son of Fuminori Hayashida, who produced several movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s, including Lured Innocence starring Dennis Hopper.
