Bio: Marie Cunningham grew up in Dearborn, Mich., loving Wolverine football and Detroit hockey. She attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in German and political science. Marie spent her last year as an undergrad living and studying in Germany.

After a stint as a clerk at an archives library, Marie came to SoCal in 2007 to attend graduate school at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. She finished in 2009 with an M.A. in Journalism. While at USC, Marie was awarded a Carnegie-Knight fellowship to do multimedia reporting on Proposition 8 in California's Central Valley.

Marie has interned at newspapers, magazines and websites in both Los Angeles and New York City. She is very excited to join the Patch team as the Beverly Hills site editor and looks forward to bringing innovative, multimedia news to the community.

Beliefs:

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible and human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal certain key beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

I'm a lefty, but I truly appreciate all calm approaches to political discourse.

Religion

    * How religious would you say you are? Casual, observant, devout, non-religious?

I prefer spiritualism in lieu of organized religion.

Local Hot Button Issues

    * What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?

The city's budget is getting a lot of attention right now, as is the budget of the Beverly Hills Unified School District.

    * Where do you stand on each of these issues?

THANKS TO KATRINA ROSSOS TOO FOR HELPING WITH THE STORY IN NMUSD.
THE PATCH AND OTHER TOP REPORTERS, EDITORS, MARIE OF COURSE AND SO MANY OTHERS HAVE HEARD THE VOICE OF KIMBERLY SPEAKING FOR HER FAMILY AND SO MANY OTHERS AND IT TRULY HAS HELPED BEGIN THE HEALING PROCESS. THE FAMILY IS FOREVER CHANGED, BUT WANTS TO CREATE BILL TO BE PASSED INTO LAW TO PROTECT EVERYONE AND NOT HAVE THE TOP AUTHORITIES FAIL THEM OR COMMUNITY AGAIN.

THANK YOU AGAIN TO ALL THE PATCH NEWSPAPERS AND INTERNET,STAFF AND ESPECIALLY MARIE CUNNINGHAM ABOUT THE FAMILY AND COMMUNITY IN NMUSD.

IT HAS BEEN 1 YEAR TODAY AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO HELP KIMBERLY, HER FAMILY AND THE OTHER VOICES SHE IS SPEAKING OUT FOR WITH THE PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR THAT SEEMS TO CONTINUE IN THIS DISTRICT.

KIMBERLY DISCOVERED THE FAMILY WITH HAIL THE THEATER STUDENT IN NMUSD, CORONA DEL MAR HIGH SCHOOL WHO WAS THREATENED TO BE RAPED AND MURDERED AND THESE 4 ATHLETES DID A MOCK UP AND THE DISTRICT DID NOTHING TO HELP THEM..
TEACHERS REPORTED AT KILLYBROOKE A EMPLOYEE DRINKING ON JOB AND NOTHING GOT DONE AND SOME TEACHERS QUIT. THIS EMPLOYEE HIT A CAR AND THE SCHOOL EVENUTALLY HAD TEACHERS RESIGN AND THERE VOICES WERE NOT HEARD...

GO TO THE NMUSD SITE WHICH IS NEWPORT MESA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT WEBSITE, CLICK ON LEFT SIDE BOARD MEETING AND ARCHIVES Dvd CLICK ON JUNE 14, 2011 THEN TOGGLE FAST FORWARD 1HR. 42 min. into meeting concerning TOP SCHOOL OFFICIALS THAT BULLY, DESTROY CHILDREN, FAMILIES, DO NOT PROTECT FAMILIES FROM THESE UNJUST AND UNLAWFUL PRACTICES.  
ADDITIONALLY I SPOKE AGAIN, ON OCTOBER 24, 2011. I HR. 32 SECONDS TO TOGGLE OR FAST FORWARD WHEN I SPEAK ONLY.
Dr. Jefferey Hubbard after my speech cared on like I was not even their and felt like who cares if a child and parent were shattered and Unlawful months of living a nightmare with Dr. Hubbard his district employees and staff raises and promotions is all the mattered, not hurting my child and I Iam speakfor the people that don't have a voice and are afraid of this District and their horrific unlawful conduct and wasting tax $$.
My daughter often asks the question aren't laws set up to protect children and people?
No other parent in Dr. Hubbard's district should ever take their child to school knowing what are they going to do next to your family all because I reported wasted taxdollars when my daughters 5th grade teacher brought her baby into the classroom by the front office manager all during working hours month after month with the Principal, district and Superintendents office knowing about it and suffering horrific retaliation and Abuse that was unimaginable. NO accountability or help only cover up after cover up.
