Police Blotter: Stolen Property, Unwanted Advances and an Assault

A verbal fight leads to a traumatic head injury in this crime roundup.

Keep an eye on your belongings. This week's crime blotter shows that unattended property is a prime target for thieves.

Stolen bike

During the night of July 10, a bicycle was stolen on the 400 block of South Maple Drive. Someone entered an unlocked utility room, took the property and left. The victim reported a loss of $515.

Unwanted advances

Between 1:30-2:30 a.m. on July 12, a woman was accosted on the 400 block of North Roxbury Drive. A man described as being 50 years old, 5-feet, 6-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with black hair and black eyes led the victim into an unoccupied restroom lobby and touched her in a sexual manner without consent.

Purse nab

Between 10:30-11 a.m. on July 13, an unattended purse was stolen in the area of South Beverly and South Canon drives. The victim reported a loss of $1,360.

Broken window

At 1 p.m. on July 15, a car window was smashed on the 200 block of South Gale Drive. No loss was reported.

Wallet snatch

Just before 6 p.m. on July 15, a wallet was stolen from a person on the 100 block of South Lasky Drive. The theft occurred while the victim was away from her desk. A loss of $935 was reported.

Head injury

At 3 a.m. on July 17, an assault occurred on the 200 block of North La Peer Drive. The suspect struck another person in the head during a verbal argument, causing traumatic injury to the victim.
