Police Blotter: Stolen Laptop, Driver's License and Money

A knife and a semiautomatic handgun are used in two separate robberies in this crime roundup.

In this week's blotter set, two robberies occurred that involved deadly weapons.

Computer grab 

At about 4 p.m. on Sept. 5, a laptop was stolen on the 9800 block of Wilshire Boulevard. A man described as being 40 years old, 6-feet 1-inch tall, weighing 240 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes took the unattended laptop, which was left on a chair. The victim reported a loss of $655.

Knife threat

At about 6 p.m. on Sept. 6, a robbery occurred on the 400 block of North Camden Drive. Someone lured a person into the doorway of a business, pulled a knife and demanded cash. The victim reported a loss of $300.

Unlocked 

Between noon and 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 8, items were stolen from an unsecured locker on the 9600 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The victim reported that $1,500, a credit card and a driver’s license was stolen. 

Distraction

At about 1 p.m. on Sept. 8, a theft occurred at a store on the 100 block of North Robertson Boulevard. A male and female distracted the clerk while a third suspect stole merchandise from a shelf and fled.

Broken glass

Between 8:30 p.m. and midnight on Sept. 9, a theft occurred on the 300 block of South La Peer Drive. Someone shattered the glass door to a residence’s master bedroom, entered the property, ransacked several rooms and then fled.

Handgun robbery

At 10:45 p.m. on Sept. 11, someone robbed a store on the 9400 block of West Olympic Boulevard. The suspect—described as being a 20-year-old male, 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds with black hair—entered the business, brandished a semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from the register. A loss of $242 was reported.
