Police Blotter: Punching, Spitting and Purse Snatching

Our week of BHPD blotters continues with another new roundup.

It's Thursday and Beverly Hills Patch has another fresh blotter for readers. This list reminds us that spitting on someone is considered assault. It's an offense that can land you in jail…not to mention it's gross!

Daylight break-in

During the day of Aug. 17, someone broke into a home on the 200 block of South Maple Drive. The person unlocked the secured driveway gate, entered the backyard, broke the sliding glass door to unlock it and entered the residence. The bedrooms were then ransacked and property valued at $7,000 was stolen.

Roxbury punch

Just after 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, someone assaulted another person on the 400 block of South Roxbury Drive. The perpetrator allegedly threw an object at the victim and then punched the victim, causing injury.

What's in the fridge?

Between 2 p.m. on Aug 16 and noon on Aug. 17, someone stole items from a medical office on the 100 block of North La Cienega Boulevard. The person swiped medicines from a refrigerator and freezer that are valued at $1,000.

I need to go

Between 3 and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 17, a man stiffed a business on the 400 block of North Roxbury Drive. The suspect—described as being about 63 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighing 155 pounds and having gray hair—racked up a $6,650 bill, excused himself to go to the restroom and then left without paying.

Spitting assailant

Just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 21, someone assaulted another person on the 300 block of North Swall Drive. The perpetrator allegedly became angry with the victim, used profanity, and then spit on the victim.

Purse snatch

At 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 22, someone stole a purse left unattended on a chair on the 9800 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The victim reported a loss of $4,400.
