Police Blotter: Arson, Daylight Robbery and Sexual Assaults

Also, more than $1,000 worth of tools are stolen from two homes on the same night.

This latest Beverly Hills Police Department blotter set proves that day or night, criminals are lurking. Always be aware of your surroundings.

Fire starter 

Shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 26, someone tried to start a house fire on the 100 block of North Le Doux Road. The suspect used accelerant to ignite a fire at the front door of the residence.

Tool time 

During the night of Oct. 23, tools and equipment were stolen from a residence on the 9900 block of Sunset Boulevard. Someone cut the lock to the front gate to enter the property. A loss of $1,800 was reported. A similar crime happened nearby on the same night. Someone broke down the temporary chain link fence surrounding a property on the 700 block of North Oakhurst Drive, entered an unlocked side door, removed $1,500 worth of tools and then fled.

Sucker punch 

Shortly before 2 p.m. on Oct. 26, an assault occurred on the 9600 block of Brighton Way. A woman described as being about 40 years old, 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds with strawberry-blond hair reached into an open car window and struck the victim with a closed fist. 

Daylight robbery

At about 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 28, a robbery occurred in the area of North Santa Monica and Wilshire boulevards. A man described as being about 30 years old, 5-feet 5-inches tall, weighing 180 pounds with black hair approached a woman from behind, punched her on the right side of the chin, grabbed her necklace and then ripped it from her neck. The victim reported a loss of $600. 

Who’s there? 

At about 1 a.m. on Oct. 29, a man entered a home through an unlocked patio door on the 200 block of North Crescent Drive. He fled when confronted by the homeowner. The victim described the suspect as being about 30 years old, 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 200 pounds with black hair. 

Bad squeeze 

At about 3:45 a.m. on Oct. 29, a woman was assaulted on the 300 block of North Maple Drive. The victim reported that a man described as being about 50 years old, 5-feet 7-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes made inappropriate comments toward her, then grabbed her hair, bear hugged her from behind and then pushed his crotch into her buttocks. 

Unwanted grope 

At 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, someone grabbed a woman’s breasts without permission on the 100 block of North Swall Drive. The victim reported that a man described as being about 34 years old, 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes grabbed her breasts from behind and squeezed them together.
