BHPD Promotes Detective Smollen to Sergeant

Sean Smollen began working for the Beverly Hills Police Department in 1991 as a civilian dispatcher.

The Beverly Hills Police Department has announced the promotion of Detective Sean Smollen to sergeant.

Sgt. Smollen will be assigned to the Patrol Bureau as a Patrol Supervisor.

Smollen started his career at BHPD as a civilian dispatcher in 1991. While a dispatcher he became a reserve officer with the department. In 1995, Smollen became a full-time sworn officer. He has served in the following positions: DUI/Crime Suppression Unit; Bicycle Officer/Instructor; School Resource Officer/DARE; Field Training Officer and Detective.

Smollen’s father, Michael Smollen, served with the Beverly Hills Fire Department for 32 years, retiring in 2002 at the rank of Deputy Fire Chief.
