BHPD Arrests Car Burglary Suspect

The man is suspected in a string of recent vehicle burglaries in the city.

The Beverly Hills Police Department made an arrest today in response to a string of vehicle burglaries in the city.

Thomas Gardner, a 32-year-old resident of Culver City, was taken into custody and is being held in the Beverly Hills Jail on $1 million bail, a news release from the city of Beverly Hills stated.

Beverly Hills police reports show a dramatic increase in car burglaries over the past six weeks, with four occurring last night. The burglarized vehicles had broken windows, and the items reported stolen included electronic devices, sporting goods, purses, wallets, credit cards, driver's licenses and checkbooks.

BHPD detectives identified Gardner as the suspect in the majority of these cases and obtained a warrant for his arrest, as well as a search warrant for a home on the 5600 block of Windsor Way in Culver City, the Beverly Hills news release said.

The BHPD reported that Gardner was arrested without incident. When taken into custody, he was still in possession of property taken during the most recent car burglaries, according to the BHPD.
