Beverly Hills Library Holding Bookmark Art Contest

Kids and teens are invited to design a bookmark that shows what they love most about the city library.

With construction on the new Children's Library underway and nearing completion, the Beverly Hills Public Library is announcing a bookmark contest for young patrons.

Kids and teens are welcome to design a bookmark that represents what they love most about the library. Winners will be chosen in four categories, with their bookmarks professionally printed and distributed to library patrons. The categories are: preschool, kindergarten through second grade, third through sixth grades and seventh through twelfth grades.

The contest deadline is Dec. 3. All submissions become the property of the Beverly Hills Public Library and the contest is limited to one entry per person.

An entry form is attached to this article. A form can also be picked up at the city library, Community Services Department in City Hall, or at the La Cienega and Roxbury Park community centers.

This is a wonderful contest - I have collected bookmarks as I travel all over the world and have amassed a fabulous collection, inlaid wood from Japan, tapestry from the Jefferson monument, dried flowers from the CA coast, finely cut wood-paper from China, photos from all over, pressed leather from Italy, and of course artwork - I cerise the paper bookmark that commemorates the LA Library fire years ago – I look forward to seeing how creative the children are.
