About Sherri
Sherri Levin developed an interest in writing at a very early age. She majored in English at the State University of New York at Albany with an emphasis in creative writing, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Psychology. Early in her business career, she left New York's advertising and fashion industry to relocate to Los Angeles. It was there that she took a break from working to raise a family. During that period, Levin interested herself in law, philosophy, fitness, education, and teaching. She obtained a Paralegal Certification from UCLA and entered Yoga Teacher Training. She started Om In The Home a business that teaches well-being, fitness, and yoga to students of all ages. Levin works with high school students as an Instructional Assistant in Special Education. Her passion for writing was reignited and took the form of newsletters, a book of aphorisms, and currently freelance articles.
Levin is a long time resident of Beverly Hills. She has two children, a daughter in college and a son in high school.

Sherri, Go get 'em! Do what you can, drum up the excitement for walking to school. The new superintendent is for it! Now talk to the schools and your friends in the district and at the schools. Thanks!

Sheri, I am writing up the story about Dr. Woods supporting walking and just sent out the latest email to the PTA parents. Let's see what response there is from the PTA. I'll forward the email to you. I've been the main advocate for 4 years without a lot of success. Hopefully, this year. What is your direct email.

High school is a challenge with the "cool factor" and peer pressure. Incentives like community service and PE credit have been and still should be considered.
Are interested in championing it at the high school level?

Hi Ellen,
I'm at the high school.
Maybe there could be a walk to school week (several times a year ) and those students who do walk (or walk part way depending on where they live).....would be honored at an assembly or get some form of community service credit that can show as an award for college admissions....as an extracurricular....
