Noe Gold
Noë Gold is a regular contributor to LA Family where he recently held the position of Executive Editor. He has been features editor at the Hollywood Reporter, editor-in-chief of Movies USA, Home Entertainment, Bikini and Guitar World and a columnist for the Village Voice and the New York Daily News.
He also has been a contributor to Variety as an editor of Oscars-related special reports and a writer covering a wide range of topics, notably the animation and special effects business, music and movies, indie films, media personalities, producers and directors of note and the interface of art and technology in Hollywood. Mr. Gold was also a regular columnist for his local paper, The Studio City Sun and a contributor to fandango.com and fancast.com— both movie and entertainment-related sites. His consulting company, noemedia, produces custom publications on a project basis such as FX HEROES, a national newsstand magazine about big action movies. He is also the webmaster and newsletter editor for a nonprofit service organization, The Mankind Project Los Angeles. In the online world, Noe pioneered the "people-in-the-news" concept for AOL's Entertainment Division, writing a daily celebrity beat column based from Hollywood known as The Daily Fix. It was the most trafficked area off the page. His movie reviews and blog posts about film were regular assets of AOL's Entertainment Asylum.  In television, he has served as the Managing Editor of VH1 and a writer/producer for Turner Broadcasting.  His stories have appeared in Rolling Stone, GQ, USA Today, Premiere, The Movies and The Los Angeles Times Magazine. He is the author of articles and books on the music of Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Ry Cooder, Miles Davis, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert King and Jaco Pastorius, among others.
