Carter Paysinger is a man of integrity and would not do something like this unless seriouslyRead More provoked. Something is really wrong here and hypothetically, even if only a fraction of the complaint is true - school board members need to resign immediately.

The photographic recording and transmission of minors in a sexual connotation or state of nudity /Read More partial nudity is production, possession and distribution of Child Pornography (California Penal Code 311). Every single time Child Pornography is viewed the victim is victimized yet once again (the standard law enforcement line). What the participants in this study (the ones dealing with imagery) are most likely to do, or should be doing, is being criminally prosecuted and, if not in prison, ending up on the Lifetime California Sex Offender Registry, where they belong. That is what the law says, and the law is the law.

"Never, under any circumstance, let someone who’s been drinking be a driver." I canRead More think of a circumstance. Two people, one who needs to be transported to a hospital in an emergency, the other had one beer 30 minutes ago. According to the Office of Traffic Safety, the person who had the beer shouldn't be a driver to drive the other person to the hospital.

The kids are excited and distracted in a car on the way to grad night or a prom, texting, or justRead More fooling around and accidents happen. Driunking makes it worse. Funerals for young people are unbearably sad. Hire a limo, or a driver. Be safe.

I love (most) teachers! That being said, I think this is a step in the right direction forRead More education reform here in California. I strongly believe that what we really need is a better way to evaluate teacher performance. I'd run it like a business using a multi-pronged evaluation approach: 1) self-evaluation (the best teachers will grade themselves more critically than the not-so-great ones), 2) student evaluations of their teachers, 3) peer evaluations, 4) parent evaluations (customer surveys!), and 5) evaluations by superiors. The best teachers not only keep their jobs but should be compensated appropriately. I'm all for merit-based pay and with such a comprehensive approach to evaluating performance the margin for error would be low. Alex Caputo-Pearl's statement that this ruling is "an attack on teachers, which is a socially acceptable way to attack students" is total baloney. It's an attack on the teachers that shouldn't be teaching and that's it. Period.

We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice!
