Rescue Dog of the Week: Nellie the American Bulldog

Meet Nellie, an affectionate pooch who wants to be your best pal.

Nellie is a 5-year-old American Bulldog who loves cuddling and sleeping with humans. Her favorite way to lie is with her head on her human companion's chest. She is a great friend for when you're feeling blue, nuzzling and showering attention on her sad people pals to let them know she cares. Nellie would do best in a big home with adults where she is the only dog. Everyone who meets this special, affectionate pooch falls in love with her. Nellie's previous owner was unable to care for her, so this sweet pup is looking for a new forever home.

Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. It does not take dogs in. It rescues only from shelters. Its adoption days are normally held every Saturday at the West Hollywood Pet Co. at 508 N. Doheny Drive from 1-4 p.m. Click here for information on how to adopt a rescue dog from Ace of Hearts.
