Rescue Dog of the Week: Aspen the American Bulldog

This sweet pup was abandoned after her owners used her to breed puppies.

Aspen is a 3-year-old female American bulldog who was abandoned by her owners after they used her to breed. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter the day she was going to be euthanized. Aspen is already spayed, house trained and up to date with her routine shots. She's a total sweetheart who gets along great with other dogs and is currently living with two male American bulldogs at her foster home. But now that Aspen is safe from the shelter she needs a permanent place, and human, to call her own.

Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. It does not take dogs in. It rescues only from shelters. Its adoption days are normally held every Saturday at the West Hollywood Petco at 508 N. Doheny Drive from 1-4 p.m. Click here for information on how to adopt a rescue dog from Ace of Hearts.
