Rescue Dog of the Week: Baxter the Beagle/Basset Mix

Meet Baxter, a perfect hiking companion who is fully house trained.

Baxter is a mellow and trusting Beagle/Basset mix. He is neutered and up to date on all routine shots. A sweet-natured love bug, he is fully house trained and obeys commands like "sit" and "lay down." Baxter loves walks on any terrain, but could use a little leash training. He is fantastic with people and most dogs, but can get overly excited by unfamiliar dogs. Baxter also enjoys to scout and chase cats. He's an all-around catch and is in need of a loving foster home, or even better, a forever home!

Ace of Hearts is a 501c-3 dog rescue foundation dedicated to rescuing dogs—the day they are to be euthanized—from various Los Angeles shelters and placing them in loving homes. It does not take dogs in. It rescues only from shelters. Its adoption days are normally held every Saturday at the West Hollywood Pet Co. at 508 N. Doheny Drive from 1-4 p.m. Click here for information on how to adopt a rescue dog from Ace of Hearts.
