What's Up Weekend: Community Tree Walk, Yom Kippur, Traffic Map

Here's some things to know in Beverly Hills today or this weekend.

1. Enjoy a pleasant morning Tree Walk with TreePeople and walk Beverly Hills on Sun., Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. Learn about the city's native trees and how to identify them. Click here for more information.

2. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the most intense, heart-wrenching and ultimately joyful day of the Jewish year. It will begin at sundown Friday Sept. 13, and continue until nightfall Sat. Sept. 14. Click here for more information.

3. Missed your municipal meetings this week? Don't forget you can get caught up on the minutes and videos online. BHTV10 replays all commission meetings back-to-back starting at noon. City Council study sessions and formal meeting videos can be viewed here. Board of Education agendas, minutes and videos can be found here (I'll be updating access to this information soon).

4. Planning your Friday escape for the weekend? Check out the live traffic map before pulling out of your spot!

5. Missed the 9/11 ceremony in Beverly Hills? Click here to view the photo gallery from Wednesday's ceremony and concert, and add your own photos and thoughts, too, in reflecting on that tragic day in American history.

6. Check back on the great exclusive coverage on Rodeo Drive's timeline and economic gains from earlier this week in the Los Angeles Times.

Did we miss anything coming up? Add to the comments section, post it in the calendar or announcements board or email the editor at matthew.sanderson@patch.com. Have a nice weekend Beverly Hills!
