The Football Future of BHHS

Beverly's freshman football team hits the practice field to prepare for their Sept. 11 season opener.

On a warm August morning, members of the Beverly Hills High School freshman football team ran through drills and listened to their coaches yell out instructions. The players were getting ready for the season opener at Santa Barbara on Sept. 11.

The Norman freshmen have an eight-game schedule with matches against San Marco, Canyon and Santa Monica high schools. Beverly's co-athletic director, Vonzie Paysinger, said the school was still trying to confirm games for Oct. 14 and Nov. 4.

Paysinger said a previously open date on Sept. 23 has been filled with a game against the North Torrance freshman football team.
