KnockOuts For Girls (KO4Gs) charity is holding a Holiday Benefit for
KO4Gs programs, along with never before seen clips from Jill Morley's
groundbreaking documentary film on female boxers, "Girl in the Ring"
on December 17th, from 7 – 10 pm,  2010 in Los Angeles at DAP Studios,
5660 Venice Blvd., in Los Angeles.  You can RSVP to:

This boxing-themed holiday party will keep you punching through the
holidays! Complete with a red carpet, DJ, photo booth (photo galleries
available to download the next day) drinks, eats, raffle prizes and
boxing celebrities (names to come). This party will be a fun and
fabulous way to enjoy the season while also helping others. Proceeds
will go towards: Fulfilling the gift wishes of the orphans at Hillside
Foster Home (www.Hillsides.org); more assistance for KO4G the boxing
program for at-risk girls; and finishing funds for Jill Morley's "Girl
in the Ring," a documentary film about empowering women who use boxing
to overcome adversity.  Filmmaker Morley stated, "Being the Director
of Knockouts Boxing Programs is a way to put into action both the
mission of KO4G and of my film.  Watching these girls grow more
confident and open up over the weeks is the best reward."



KnockOuts For Girls is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization that puts
on female boxing events to raise money to grant empowering, confidence
building, educational, encouraging and inspiring wishes (using boxing
as a main focus) that will enrich the lives of deserving at risk girls
and impact their lives in a positive way.   Holiday Benefit Suggested
Donation: $20.

Jill Morley, in addition to teaching boxing, is an accomplished
documentary filmmaker.  Her newest film, "Girl In The Ring,"
sensitively captures the adversity female boxers face, while telling a
larger story about abuse, trauma, sexism and healing. Morley's
previous award-winning documentary, "Stripped," ran on the Sundance
Channel and won Best Documentary at the Women's International Film
Festival in Sydney. Her short, "Eye Poppin," premiered at the AFI Film
Festival.  A contributing writer to several periodicals including The
Village Voice, Bust Magazine, and The New York Press, Morley also
produced radio documentaries for NPR. She was a producer/correspondent
for Michael Moore's "The Awful Truth."  Morley wrote and performed the
critically acclaimed play "True Confessions of a Go-Go Girl," which
was published in The Best Women's Plays of 1998, ran Off-Broadway for
several years and was made into a Lifetime Movie of the Week.
