Beverly Hills Active Adult Club To Visit Ronald Reagan Presidential Library

On Wednesday, May 9, 2012 the City of Beverly Hills’ Active Adult Club sponsors an excursion to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley during the Centennial celebration, commemorating what would have been President Reagan’s 100th birthday. The trip departs the La Cienega Tennis Center (325 S. La Cienega Boulevard) at 10:30 a.m. and returns at approximately 5:30 p.m. At the library, attendees will learn about the events that shaped history during Reagan’s eight years in the White House. The state-of-the-art library guides visitors through exhibits from Reagan’s early years to his time spent as a world leader and features a rotating exhibit of some of the 100,000 gifts received by the Reagans during their White House years. Visitors may also touch a piece of the Berlin Wall, go inside Air Force One and pay respects at President Reagan’s final resting place. Additionally, a limited exhibit on George Washington’s life at Mt. Vernon—with 100 rare artifacts—will be on display. The trip will be chaperoned and requires moderate walking. The buffet lunch will include lemon-herb grilled chicken breast, mashed potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, salad, rolls, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and coffee and soft drinks. Tickets are $45 for BHAAC members or $50 for non-members. Participants may register at the Roxbury Community Center (471 S. Roxbury Drive, Beverly Hills, 90210), which accepts cash or checks only. For more registration information please call 310-285-6840.
