Clippers Coach: Owner's 'Disturbing' Remarks Couldn't Come at a Worse Time

Los Angeles Clippers coach Glenn "Doc" Rivers said today's news that his boss, Donald Sterling, reportedly made racist comments could not come at a worse time -- four games into the NBA playoffs.

Glenn "Doc" Rivers told reporters in San Francisco this afternoon that it was "disturbing to hear anyone say that, it doesn't matter if it comes from someone we work with."

"There will be a time to react to this, there will be a place to react to this," he told reporters after a team practice at the University of San Francisco. "This is not the time and this is not the place.

"Right now, our focus is on Golden State."

The team had a 45-minute meeting to discuss the comments today, and Rivers told reporters he would have much rather have had the players watch videos of the Golden State Warriors, who play the Clippers Sunday in Oakland.

"What are we going to do?" he asked rhetorically during a 25-minute session with a gaggle of reporters at USF. His comments were recorded by KCBS radio in San Francisco and broadcast by its sister station, KNX, in Los Angeles.

"It has an impact on is and then we move on," he said.

"We try to keep clutter away from our team," he observed. "This clutter has been brought to our team and that upsets us."
