BHHS Wrestler Advances to Masters Tournament

Dylan Lojac placed third in his weight class at the CIF Individuals tournament, earning him a spot at the Masters Meet.

's Dylan Lojac has qualified for the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet after placing third in his weight class at the over the weekend.

The senior captain wrestled in the 152-pound weight class and is the only Norman to advance to the Masters Meet, being held Feb. 24-25 at Temecula Valley High School. The top five wrestlers in each weight bracket at the CIF Individuals tournament qualified. 

"He beat the four, five, seven and six seeds in that order to earn third place," BHHS head coach Mark Mead said of Lojac. "His only loss was to Colin Navickas from Marina, who was seeded one and also came in first."

Mead also noted the outstanding performances of Matt Kohanbash (120-pound weight class) and Julian Jackson (Heavyweight) who both made day two of the CIF Individuals tournament, which took place at Roosevelt High School in Corona. Ralph Yun and Marshall Stevens also had impressive performances with exciting wins, Mead said.

The top nine wrestlers in each weight class at the Masters Meet will advance to the CIF State Tournament being held March 2-3 in Bakersfield.
