BHHS Athletes Net All-League Honors

Normans are selected in football, girls volleyball and boys water polo.

The Beverly Hills High varsity football team did not make the playoffs in the fall, but several players have been named to the All-Ocean League team.

Senior running back Frank Brown, senior wide receiver Cameron Countryman, senior tight end Madison Moore and senior defensive lineman Julian Jackson all garnered first team honors. BHHS offensive lineman Jeraud Williams and linebacker Ole Woods each made the second team.

Brown rushed for 674 yards in 135 carries and scored 10 touchdowns in seven games for the Normans (2-8), who tied for last place with Morningside in the Ocean League standings.

Senior running back/linebacker Kori Garcia of league champion Santa Monica was selected Most Valuable Player, senior wide receiver Derrick Woods of Inglewood was named Offensive Player of the Year and senior linebacker Chris Collins of Santa Monica was named Defensive Player of the Year.

In girls volleyball, sophomore outside hitter Liat Hackman was the only BHHS player to make the All-Ocean League first team. Making the second team were Normans senior setter Halle Beesen and senior libero Ginelle Wolfe.

Freshman setter Blossom Sato of Santa Monica was named the league's Most Valuable Player and Vikings teammate Sarah Krenik, a senior outside hitter, was chosen Most Outstanding Player.

In boys water polo, Normans senior attacker Dillon Silverstein was selected the Ocean League's Most Outstanding Player. Joining him on the first team was fellow BHHS senior attacker Zak Zukoski.

Senior attacker Evan Peterson of El Segundo was named the Most Valuable Player.
