donated nearly $5,000 to the Beverly Hills Education Foundation as part of the chain's "5% Days," during which 5 percent of a day's net sales at a store are given to a local nonprofit or educational organization.
The BHEF is a nonprofit group that funds extracurricular programs and staff members at all five city schools.
"Our team members are part of the local community and we are passionate about supporting the local causes that are important to our shoppers and neighbors," Whole Foods BH Team Leader Eliberto Gamino said.
Gamino and Whole Foods BH Marketing Supervisor Ellen Prager presented a check for $4,939.15 to new BHEF Executive Director Matt Zarcufsky and BHEF President Annette Saleh. The proceeds came from 5 percent of the store's net sales from March 21.
"Whole Foods has been a consistent and generous supporter of our children and education in Beverly Hills," Saleh said. "On behalf of the BHEF, we thank them and the community for their contribution. I urge all of our residents to shop at Whole Foods."
Whole Foods Beverly Hills is located at 239 N. Crescent Drive. It is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
