Unofficial School Board Election Results Have Margo in Second Place

The Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office reports that in the semifinal official canvas returns, write-in candidate Noah Margo has more than 1,000 votes.

Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education write-in candidate Noah Margo has at least 1,174 votes, according to a press release by the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office.

The latest results are as follows:

Brian Goldberg—2,170 votes

Noah Margo—1,174 votes

Lewis Hall—966 votes

Frances Bilak—899 votes

Andy Licht—746 votes

With that vote tally, Margo would take second place behind incumbent Brian Goldberg, who has a commanding lead in the polls. As Patch reported earlier, the latest ballot count also puts .

The four candidates are each vying for one of three available seats on the BHUSD school board. Andy Licht dropped out of the race before election day, though not in time to get his name removed from the ballot.

Under California law, officials have 28 days following an election to conduct a canvass of vote-by-mail, provisional, damaged and write-in ballots. County Clerk spokeswoman Eileen Shea told Patch that the office expects to have the official election results early Monday evening.
