BHUSD students in grades 7 through 12 prepare questions to ask the three Board of Education candidates: James Fabe, Howard Goldstein and Lisa Korbatov.

The TEEN Foundation BH will host a Board of Education Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Jon Cherney Lecture Hall at Beverly Hills High School’s Science and Technology Center.

The public is encouraged to attend and questions from the audience will be permitted if time The TEEN Foundation BH, under the auspices of the Beverly Hills Education Foundation, is comprised of 35 students from the Beverly Hills Unified School District grades 7 through 12 who are committed to community service.

In anticipation of the forum the students met as a group to prepare a list of questions for the candidates.

“Covering topics of interest from a student perspective is our main objective for this forum," said states Michelle Adams, president of The TEEN Foundation BH. “We want to understand the candidates’ philosophies on topics such as academics and common core, drug testing, technology, safe schools and more.”

In addition to organizing the Forum, The TEEN Foundation BH members participate in community service projects and organize fundraising events throughout the school year.

The foundation recently helped out at Greystone Mansion to prepare the gardens for winter. Through a grant application process, managed by student members of The TEEN Foundation BH, the group plans to allocate funds raised through its activities to Beverly High clubs that request funding.
