Standout Student: Ronnie Seidel

Ronnie Seidel is headed to the University of Oxford.

Some of Beverly's finest are skipping summertime at the beach for a lesson in the classroom. Others are participating in community service programs or internships. Patch caught up with these standout Normans to talk about their plans. We'll be featuring new students throughout the summer months.

Incoming senior Ronnie Seidel, 17, is spending the month of July studying at the University of Oxford. His focus at the historic English institution will be War in World History, with additional speech and debate classes.

"I wanted to take some type of summer course at a college or university to get a preview of that experience," Seidel said. "I was searching through places to attend and knew that I really enjoyed my experiences in England in my travels."

Seidel hopes that this taste of college life will help to prepare him for the real thing. He also welcomes the opportunity for immersion in an international setting.

"I am really looking forward to a preview of my four years in college," Seidel said. "I'm also looking forward to meeting new people from around the world and having new experiences that I will remember for years to come."
