Science Bob Pops Pie Tins off El Rodeo School Principal's Head

The 21st century "Bill Nye the Science Guy" from Boston visits Beverly Hills school to engage students in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math with several fun and safe experiments.

El Rodeo School students got a heavy dose of science, technology, engineering and math on Friday, Oct. 18 with a visit from "Science Bob" with several fun experiments during an assembly.

According to the school district, Beverly Hills was selected as a pilot of the new traveling show by Science Bob for grade schools and middle schools across the country.

Science Bob has Principal Dave Hoffman in a hair-raising experience with electro magnetic airwaves popping pie tins off of his head. and there was an experiment with kids selected from the audience performing the explosive film canister trick.

"Science Bob" Pflugfleder is a middle-school science teacher based in the Boston, MA area and has established himself as a 21st Century "Bill Nye the Science Guy" through his live science experiment demonstrations seen on national television. He's been a recurring guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Live with Kelly and Michael and the Dr. Oz show, performing entertaining and fun science demonstrations that thrill the host and viewing audiences.

Over the years Bob has focused on making science understandable and enjoyable for kids through his TV appearances, public presentations and workshops, instructional videos, in-class teaching and his website, www.sciencebob.com.

Bob will be in Los Angeles the week of October 14th as he will be performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, October 17th.

"Science Bob" not only explained to the kids the "how's" and "why's" of each experiment, but also encouraged his audience to become involved with science and technology in support of the national STEM education initiative.
