BHUSD School Board Candidates Launch Campaigns Sunday

Three of the four candidates hold their kickoffs Sunday, with the fourth challenger launching his campaign Sept. 25.

This weekend marks the start of the as three of the four Board of Education candidates hold their campaign launch parties Sunday.

Board Vice President Brian Goldberg, the only incumbent in the race, is holding his kickoff from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 917 Benedict Canyon. Goldberg will speak at 11:30 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. at the home of Ardyth and Sam Freshman.

Andy Licht, who serves on the Traffic and Parking Commission, will start his campaign at 1 p.m. at 1012 N. Roxbury Drive. He will be speaking throughout the afternoon at the home of Kathy and Randy Katz.

“With our talented staff, passionate parents and unique resources we are positioned to become a transformative, forward-thinking school district,” Licht said in a statement. “I want to help lead that process.”

Another challenger, Frances Bilak, will hold her kickoff from 2-4 p.m. at . Bilak is speaking at 2:30 p.m. and again at 3:30 p.m., and will be available throughout the afternoon to answer questions.

“I want my event to be as accessible as possible for Beverly Hills families to attend,” she said, explaining why she is the only candidate to hold her launch in a park.

The last candidate, Lewis Hall, will launch his campaign Sept. 25 from 2-4:30 p.m. at 804 N. Linden Drive. It will take place at the home of Janet Salter.
