Join the LA Marathon as a Runner or Volunteer

Would you like to have a lot of fun on a Sunday morning?

Dear Beverly Hills Patch friends,

The Los Angeles Marathon is Sunday, March 18. Unless you are planning to lace up for the race, please consider volunteering for the event by handing out water to the thousands of runners who will pass through Beverly Hills.

Last year I set up a team of volunteers to do just that. You too can join the “Russ Bus” by registering here with the password “rllion.”

Kathi Rothner is once again managing “Mile 16,” Beverly Hills’ water station for the marathon located near the intersection of Burton Way and Rexford Drive. The Russ Bus is part of the Mile 16 team. Our fun will begin at 6:30 a.m.

The 26-mile race will run through some interesting and exciting areas with the new “Stadium to the Sea” course. Participants will start at Dodger Stadium in Echo Park, make their way through downtown L.A., go back up to Echo Park and then Silver Lake, then head west through Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood, West L.A. and Santa Monica. The race ends at the Santa Monica Pier.

The Beverly Hills segment of the race will have runners hitting Burton Way, Santa Monica Boulevard, Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard.

Sign up to be a runner or volunteer soon. Last year’s event was a lot of fun!

Thank you for reading about the exciting L.A. Marathon. Russ
