Dates for Next Two Oscars Shows Announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirms ABC will broadcast both shows. The date of the 2014 show is timed to avoid conflict with the Winter Olympic Games.

Beverly Hill's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Monday the dates for the next two Oscar shows.

The 2014 program will take place March 2. The 2015 show is set for Feb. 22.   Both shows will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and air live on ABC.

Dates for nominations and voting were also released as part of a full schedule.

The timing of the 2014 was hotly speculated, as the normal Oscar window coincides with Winter Olympic games taking place Feb. 7-23 in Sochi, Russia.

NBC will broadcast the Olympics.

The Academy produces the awards and the program every year as its major source of income.

The sale of broadcast rights are a big part of that. Their value depends partly on the size of the audience for the broadcast.
