Metro Board Meets Thursday Morning for Subway Vote

A 47-seat bus for residents who want to attend the downtown L.A. meeting is leaving Kelly's Coffee at 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board of Directors is meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday to vote on the Westside Subway Extension's Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report.

The report recommends a subway station on Constellation Boulevard in Century City, which requires tunneling under Beverly Hills High School. In a , the Beverly Hills City Council adopted a resolution to request a public hearing on the route, revision to the final environment report and redistribution of the document to address the city's concerns.

"I bet they are going to ," Councilman Barry Brucker said Tuesday at a monthly Parent-Teacher Association Council meeting.

City Attorney Larry Wiener told Patch that Metro has between 15 and 60 days to schedule the public hearing.

A 47-seat bus for residents who want to attend the Metro board meeting will depart at 7:30 a.m. Thursday from Kelly’s Coffee and Fudge Factory, 444 N. Rexford Drive. Parking for those taking the bus is available in the Civic Center lot next to the Beverly Hills Public Library.
