Former Beverly Hills Assemblyman Mike Feuer Injured in Car Crash

Feuer did not sustain life-threatening injuries but will remain hospitalized for a few days.

Mike Feuer, who represented Beverly Hills for six years as assemblyman for the 42nd District, was injured in an automobile accident Monday.

Now in the race for Los Angeles City Attorney, Feuer will be hospitalized for a few days, his campaign's chief strategist John Shallman said.

"Mr. Feuer did not sustain any life-threatening injuries," Shallman said, adding he is "expected to make a full and speedy recovery."

The L.A. City Attorney candidate was driving to Jackie Lacey's swearing-in ceremony for Los Angeles County District Attorney at the Galen Center when his Prius was hit by a truck that ran a red light.

Feuer's run representing the 42nd Assembly District ended this month due to term limits. Also, redistricting has moved Beverly Hills to the new 50th Assembly District, with former Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom winning the seat in the Nov. 6 election.

The Beverly Hills City Council had honored the outgoing assemblyman and his staff at the Nov. 20 study session for outstanding service to the community.
