Dense Fog Advisory Issued for Beverly Hills

Visibility will be down to one-quarter mile and in some areas, down to several hundred feet, according to meteorologists.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog alert Friday for Los Angeles County coastal communities, including Santa Monica, Malibu, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Long Beach and Downtown Los Angeles.

Areas of low clouds and dense fog will occur Friday morning then dissipate by midday, according to NWS meteorologists.

Visibility will be reduced to one-quarter mile and in some areas visibilities could be reduced to several hundred feet, creating hazardous driving conditions on the roadways, the NWS said.

The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, as well as Interstates 710, 110 and 405, will be susceptible to chain-reaction crashes because big-rigs travel through these corridors. Travel on Pacific Coast Highway will also be affected.

Motorists are advised to slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of room ahead.

The fog advisory will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Friday, according to NWS.
