Crescent Drive Bollard Installation to be Complete in Early September

Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills has been closed on north and south Santa Monica boulevards and traffic is diverted to Rexford or Canon drives.

The city began installing retractable street bollards on Crescent Drive the week of Aug. 5 and the construction's diverted traffic to various surrounding streets.

The work's slated to be complete by the first week of September.

A bollard is a short vertical post used to increase pedestrian safety by restricting vehicle access to a specific area. The Crescent Drive bollards are stainless steel cylinders, decorated with the Beverly Hills shield logo. They will be used to close one block of North Crescent Drive in front of City Hall for occasional community events.

Crescent Drive has been closed on north and south Santa Monica boulevards and traffic is diverted to Rexford or Canon drives. Public access to the Crescent Drive parking garage is open. Signage has been placed around the work area to direct traffic and indicates businesses are open.

Construction is occuring during daytime hours.
