City Council Recognizes Robert S. Anderson as Centennial Historian

Anderson is considered the driving force to re-create the Beverly Hills sign at Beverly Gardens Park.

A well known advocate at keeping the history of Beverly Hills' history remembered and revived, the City Council presented a proclamation to historian Robert S. Anderson Tuesday night.

He was named the official historian of the centennial celebration, which takes place Jan. 28, 2014.

Anderson emceed Rodeo de los Caballos to kick off Beverly Hills' centennial celebration, and he is the author of The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows: The First 100 Years.

Mayor John Mirisch said Anderson was "the driving force" behind the re-creation of the Beverly Hills sign in Beverly Gardens Park.

"It's not only a re-creation but also a recreation for his continued service to the city," Mirisch said.
