City Council Meets Tuesday: Trousdale View Litigation Costs, Wooden Roofs on Agenda

It is the first session with the new council and mayor in place.

 

The Beverly Hills City Council meets in a formal session Tuesday, April 2 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

This is the first session since the new city council and mayor were installed Wednesday.

The long agenda includes a probable vote on an amendment to the city's ordinance requiring all Beverly Hills homeowners to have fire retardant wood rooof coverings by July 1, 2013.

The motion would extend the date for compliance to July 1, 2014 and give homeowners the option to treat their roofs with fire retardant pray.

The council will also consider an item related to the . 

The permits come out of a city process that gives homeonwers in the historic section a way to restore and maintain views blocked by new home construction.

The legislation as approved also requires homeowners taking advantage of the process to post a deposit, in the event of litigation.

Tuesday's vote would approve that deposit amount at $150,000. It would also set up a method for apportioning litigation costs between homeowners and the city.
