Cat Advocate Receives 2013 Embrace Civility Award

Raymond Flade receives annual award at Beverly Hills City Council meeting.

The Beverly Hills City Council awarded its annual and prestigious Embrace Civility Award to resident Raymond Flade at its Nov. 5 meeting.

Flade was nominated for his extraordinary care of cats in the city, having taken care of more than 79 stray or forgotten cats and ensuring to bring them the helped they needed.

Flade is also a member of the Disaster Communications System Team, as well as a veteran.

Presented each year by the city's Human Relations Commission, the Embrace Civility award goes to member of the community who promotes and practices civility, tolerance and positive neighbor-to-neighbor relations.
