Butler Exceeds $1M in Campaign Contributions, Expenditures

During the most recent filing period Betsy Butler raises a third of her campaign's total earnings.

Assemblywoman Betsy Butler's campaign fundraising efforts in the race for the new 50th Assembly District has seen a bump in the last 20 days.

The redrawn district spans the Westside, covering Santa Monica, Malibu, Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and parts of Los Angeles.

Numbers released Friday on the Secretary of State website for the period between Oct. 1-20 show that Butler raised $407,504, or roughly a third of her campaign's earnings since Jan. 1.

Butler has spent some $1.45 million on her run for AD50 since the beginning of the year.

The race's other contender, Santa Monica Mayor Richard Bloom, raised $114,703 during the most recent reporting period. His campaign has taken in $507,352 since Jan. 1 and spent $596,446 so far this year.
