I am pretty shocked that by majorities, Beverly Hills voters opposed Proposition 30, thus endangering millions of dollars for the BHUSD schools, starting this year, and yet supported (not by the required 2/3) Measure J, which funds mass transit including the Purple line subway extension but for 10-15 years from now.

What is really shocking is how FEW registered Voters VOTED !!! That is disgraceful....

What I meant to say was ....HOW FEW REGISTERED BEVERLY HILLS VOTERS ACTUALLY VOTED !!! All registered voters should VOTE !!!!

What I find interesting about Measure J is that Mirisch claimed that it was a referendum on MTA tunneling under BHHS – that a "No" vote was our way of telling MTA not to tunnel under BHHS. If that's true then it would seem that the majority of Beverly Hills (57.5%) supports tunneling under the high school. Mirisch also claims that he represents the people of Beverly Hills while the so-called council majority only represents the city staff. Well, according to his interpretation of Measure J as a referendum, it would now seem that the large majority of the people he claims to represent (like me) actually support tunneling under the high school. I assume Mirisch will listen to and represent his constituency now by advocating the Constellation route.
