Rookie Beverly Hills Police Officers Save a Life

Two rookie Beverly Hills police officers acted quickly Sunday morning to assist the driver of a vehicle in an accident suffering from cardiac arrest

On Sunday, Oct. 6 at approximately 8 a.m., two rookie patrol officers responded to 50 N. La Cienega Boulevard on what was originally reported as a traffic collision with a vehicle into a tree and parking meter.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the 45-year-old driver in medical distress, unconscious and in full cardiac arrest. The officers removed the victim from his vehicle, began CPR and were able to successfully use an automated external defibrillator (AED), which delivered a “shock."

The victim regained a pulse and his breathing became more normal, according to police. The driver was subsequently transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center by Beverly Hills Fire Department paramedics, where he is resting comfortably as of Tuesday afternoon.
