UPDATED: Police Get a Report of Gunman at Beverly Hills High

Police now say the call was a hoax.

UPDATED at 4:29 p.m.: Police are now saying the call about a gunman at Beverly Hills High School was a hoax. 

UPDATED at 4:23 p.m.: 
Police investigating that report of a gunman with a hostage at Beverly Hills High School at 241 Moreno Drive have found no evidence of a crime, but continue to check the campus, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Mike Foxen. The report was made telephonically around 2:45 p.m., Foxen says.

Police are investigating a report of a gunman with a hostage at Beverly Hills High School at 241 Moreno Drive, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Renato Moreno.

The report came right at dismissal time when many of the school's students were already off campus, Moreno says. The response includes some SWAT officers, he says.

Police are advising the public to stay away from the campus.
