Police Blotter: Thieves Hit Homes and Stores
In one report, it takes three men to snatch a watch from a Rodeo Drive shop.
Beware if you see someone carrying a ladder around your neighborhood at night as it could be used to assist with a break-in.
Jewel thief
Between June 23-26, a home was burglarized on the 200 block of South Crescent Drive. Someone entered the residence by unknown means, removed jewelry from the master bedroom and fled. The victim reported a loss of $20,400.

Forced entry
Between June 24-27, a burglary occurred on the 9700 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Someone pried open a door to the location and removed property valued at $3,000.

Watch posse
Just before 5 p.m. on June 30, three men allegedly stole a watch from a store on the 400 block of North Rodeo Drive. The suspects entered the store, opened a locked cabinet, removed the item and then exited without paying. A loss of $6,350 was reported.
Buy and steal
Around 6 p.m. on July 2, merchandise was stolen from a store on the 9500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Someone concealed the items inside a shopping bag containing purchased items and then exited the store. A loss of $2,119 was reported.
Ladder, no chute
Between 8-9 p.m. on July 2, a home was burglarized on the 600 block of North Hillcrest Road. Someone propped a ladder against the residence, broke open a window to gain entry and then ransacked the master bedroom. The victim reported a loss of $47,450.
