Police Blotter: Stolen Ring, Watch Thief and Bank Robbery

Also, a person was hit with a metal broom on North Camden Drive.

A man made off with $500 from a bank on North Beverly Drive after passing the teller a note demanding money. Read about that and more in the latest blotter set.

Ring ruse 

At about 1 p.m. on Dec. 28, a ring valued at $2,000 was stolen on the 9500 block of Dayton Way. Two men allegedly used a distraction technique to get the ring from the victim.

Dirty laundry 

During the night of Dec. 28, someone tried to force his or her way into the laundry room of a building on the 9300 block of West Olympic Boulevard. Damage to the room’s door lock and doorknob was reported.

Taken timepiece 

Sometime between 2 p.m. on Dec. 28 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 29, a watch was stolen from a nightstand in a home on the 1700 block of Carla Ridge. The victim reported a loss of $6,000.

Bank heist

At 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 29, a bank was robbed on the 400 block of North Beverly Drive. A man described as being 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing 165 pounds allegedly entered the bank, simulated that he had a weapon and gave the teller a note demanding cash, then fled when he was given money. Shoo 

At about 8 a.m. on Dec. 30, someone was struck with a metal broom on the 800 block of North Camden Drive. The victim had reportedly refused to leave the premises when asked to do so. 

Watch your purse 

Between 10:30 and 11 p.m. on Dec. 30, property was stolen from someone’s purse on the 9800 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The victim reported a loss of $3,680.
