Police Blotter: Stolen Cash, Clothes and Iron

Also, a ring worth $91,000 is lifted from a Rodeo Drive shop.

This week's blotter shows that thieves in Beverly Hills have expensive tastes.

South Beverly burglaries

Sometime between April 8-11, cash was stolen from an office cabinet on the 100 block of South Beverly Drive. The victim reported a loss of $200. Then a few days later, between April 14-15, another office cabinet was hit up for cash on the same block—to the tune of $60.

Fast cash

Between April 9-11, someone pried open an ATM machine on the 400 block of North Bedford Drive. The suspect then removed $17,000 and fled the location.

Off the rack

Between 3:30-6:30 p.m. on April 11, merchandise was stolen from a store on the 9600 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Someone selected clothing from sales racks, entered the dressing room, removed the security sensors, concealed the items inside shopping bags and exited the store without paying. Losses were reported at $1,000. 

Strawberry short-change

Just before 11 a.m. on April 14, an office was burglarized on the 9000 block of Wilshire Boulevard. A female described as being about 30 years old with strawberry-blond hair entered the location, removed property valued at $2,000 and fled.

Wilshire thieving

At about 7 p.m. on April 11, merchandise was stolen from a store on the 9500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Losses were reported at $1,800. Then between 4:30-5 p.m. on April 12, $3,000 worth of merchandise from a store on the same block was stolen.

Grate escape

Shortly after noon on April 14, a man was caught stealing a cast iron tree grate on the 300 block of North Rodeo Drive. The victim attempted to stop the fleeing suspect, who then bumped the victim several times with his car. An officer witnessed the assault and arrested the suspect.

Iron on the run

Just before 1 p.m. on April 14, cast iron pieces of metal were stolen from a rear parking lot on the 300 block of North Rodeo Drive. The male suspect, described as being about 37 years old, placed the pieces of metal into the rear of his vehicle, whereupon a witness ordered the man to put  the goods back on the ground. Losses were reported at $1,000.

Bling ring

At about 2:30 p.m. on April 14, a ring was stolen from a store on the 200 block of North Rodeo Drive. A man described as being about 25 years old with black hair and brown eyes, 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighing 170 pounds took the ring, valued at $91,000, without paying.

Nice jacket

Between 8:30 p.m. on April 15 and 7 a.m. on April 16, someone stole a jacket on the 400 block of North Rodeo Drive. The victim reported a loss of $25,000.

Touchy-feely

Between 9:30-10 p.m. on April 15, a woman was assaulted in the area of South Beverly Drive and Charleville Boulevard. A man described as being about 18 years old with brown hair, hazel eyes and weighing 150 pounds approached the victim from behind, restrained her and touched her.
