Police Blotter: Office Burglaries and Ransacking

Also, four men assault another man, attempting to drown him in a bathtub.

Offices were a big target for thieves in this blotter set.

Not so suite

Sometime between April 1-3, a suite was burglarized on the 300 block of South Beverly Drive. Someone gained entry to the location by unknown means, damaged interior doors with bodily force and took property valued at $500.

Quick hit

During the night of April 3, property was stolen from a car on the 400 block of North Oakhurst Drive. The victim reported a loss of $635.

Charge it

At about 9 a.m. on April 4, someone stole a debit card from an unlocked office on the 9000 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect then made unauthorized purchases on the card.

Big Break

Shortly after 1 a.m. on April 5, a man was caught on video throwing rocks at the windows of a property on the 8800 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect is described as having gray hair and brown eyes, and about 50 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing 230 pounds.

Mac me

Sometime between the morning of April 5 and the afternoon of April 6, a suite was burglarized on the 8500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect entered the property, took a computer valued at $2,000 and then fled undetected.

Cable-ready

Between the evening of April 6 and morning of April 7, a residence was ransacked on the 200 block of South Linden Drive. The suspect entered the property through a bedroom sliding door and took U.S. currency and a flat screen TV. The victim reported a loss of $9,000.

Vicious assault

Between 1:30-4:30 p.m. on April 8, four men assaulted another man on the 200 block of South Reeves Drive. The suspects, described as being in their 20s and 30s, tied up the victim, demanded the return of property that they said he had. Then one suspect attempted to drown the victim in the bathtub and struck him.

Nighttime appointment

During the night of April 9, someone gained entry into an unsecured office building on the 200 block of South Beverly Drive. The suspect then broke into and lightly ransacked the front office, then fled. A loss of $250 was reported.

Shoplifting shopper

Between 1-3 p.m. on April 10, merchandise was stolen from a store on the 9500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. Someone entered the location, selected items from a display rack, concealed them inside a bag and left without paying. A loss of $4,500 was reported.
