Police Blotter: A Stolen Safe and Daytime Assaults

A resident suffers a setback of more than $200,000 in this blotter set. Sometimes, a safety deposit box is the best option.

Not so safe

Between April 17-27, someone stole a safe from a home on the 200 block of South Peck Drive. The burglar pried open the locked master bedroom closet, took the safe, and fled. The victim reported a loss of $234,000.

Lock your car

Between April 22-24, property was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 900 block of North Roxbury Drive. The victim reported a loss of $1,500.

Vicious words

Between 6-6:30 a.m. on April 25, an assault occurred on the 300 block of North Palm Drive. The victim reported being pulled by the hair and told by the perpetrator, “I should beat your head in.”

Off the mat

At about 1:30 p.m. on April 25, an assault occurred in the area of North Canon Drive and North Santa Monica Boulevard. The victim reported that someone flipped her over and wrestled with her, causing injury.

Bit and hit

At about 6:30 p.m. on April 25, property was stolen from a store on the 200 block of North Crescent Drive. When confronted for the theft, the suspect bit and hit security. A loss of $8 was reported.

Purse snatch

Between 7:30-8 p.m. on April 30, a woman was robbed on the 9300 block of West Olympic Boulevard. A man described as being 30 years old, 6-feet tall and weighing 170 pounds approached the victim, physically removed her purse and fled. A loss of $400 was reported.

Hotel theft

Between April 30 and May 1, property was stolen from a hotel room on the 9500 block of Wilshire Boulevard. The victim reported a loss $1,450.
