Police Blotter: A Bunch of Burglaries

Businesses, homes and underground garages are targeted.

It's Tuesday, which means blotter number two in Beverly Hills Patch's week of crime reports. We've got a new list coming every day until Friday, so stay tuned. Today we bring you reports on a bunch of burglaries.

Smash

Sometime between the evening of July 31 and the morning of Aug. 2, someone smashed open the front glass entry door to a business on the 9600 block of Brighton Way. The person searched through cabinets and took off with a printer. A loss of $100 was reported.

Straight from storage

Between 1 a.m. and noon on Aug. 2, someone stole items from a subterranean garage on the 200 block of South Gale Drive. The person entered an unlocked storage room in the underground space, removed property and fled. The victim reported a loss of $1,100.

Basement access

Sometime during the day Aug. 2, two men described as being about 30 years old, 6-feet tall and 160 pounds entered a residence through a basement window on the 500 block of North Maple Drive. The men ransacked the bedrooms, removed property and fled in a getaway vehicle. The victim reported a loss of $7,000.

In through the back

Between noon and 3 p.m. Aug. 2, someone entered a backyard through an unsecured gate on the 300 block of North Maple Drive. The person pried open a secured rear door, entered the residence, removed items and fled.

Upgrade?

Between 4 and 6:15 p.m. Aug. 2, someone stole items from a business on the 400 block of North Beverly Drive. The person entered the store, cut the security wires on two cell phones, took the phones and left. A loss of $860 was reported.

Never mind

Shortly after 11 p.m. Aug. 3, someone busted a single pane of glass on the front door of a building on the 9600 block of Brighton Way. The perpetrator did not gain entry and fled the scene.

Bike off the balcony

Just after midnight Aug. 5, a bicycle was stolen from a balcony on the 9100 block of Beverly Boulevard. The victim reported that someone scaled a 12-foot wall, climbed on the balcony, took the bike and lowered it to a second person waiting on the ground. The victim reported a loss of $700.

On second thought

Between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7, a man described as being about 20 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, stole goods from a store on the 300 block of North Beverly Drive. The suspect allegedly looked at specific merchandise, left the store, and then returned to the location one hour later, selected the same items and fled without paying. A loss of $420 was reported.
