Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Doheny Drive

Fatal hit-and-run happens just east of Beverly Hills. Los Angeles police seek information on the driver.

A 33-year-old man was struck by a Jeep and killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Beverly Grove section of Los Angeles, just east of Beverly Hills, police said Friday.

The crash happened around 10:25 p.m. Thursday on Doheny Drive just north of Third Street near the Four Seasons Hotel, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

The victim, who was crossing westbound outside a marked crosswalk, was struck by a dark gray or green Jeep Wrangler that was headed north on Doheny Drive, police said.

Despite the efforts of Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. His name was withheld pending family notification.
