Not Guilty Plea for Woman Accused in Trousdale Estates Stabbing

Her alleged accomplice is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Chie Alexandra Coggins Johnson, 20, pleaded not guilty Friday in the stabbing death of her ex-boyfriend in the Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills, according to wire reports.

Katsutoshi Tony Takazato, 21, was found dead about 6 a.m. Tuesday outside his father's home on the 1800 block of Carla Ridge.

Johnson, 20, remains jailed on $3 million bail. She is due back in Beverly Hills Superior Court on Aug. 26 for a hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence for her to stand trial.

Johnson's current boyfriend, Scott Joseph Barker, 23, is scheduled to be arraigned Monday, according to Jane Robison of the L.A. County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors say Barker and Johnson stabbed Takazato to death the night of July 15 after Johnson claimed Takazato had physically abused her. The criminal complaint alleges Barker used a knife during the commission of the crime, according to wire reports.

Takazato is the son of Fuminori Hayashida, who produced several movies in the 1990s, including Lured Innocence starring Dennis Hopper.
