Man Ordered to Stand Trial in Girlfriend's Killing

James Duane Grzeslo is due back in court for arraignment Nov. 20, stemming from the 2011 Beverly Hills homicide.

A 56-year-old man was ordered Wednesday to stand trial on a charge that he murdered his estranged girlfriend in her Beverly Hills apartment just over three years ago.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James Dabney found sufficient evidence to require James Duane Grzeslo to proceed to trial in connection with the Oct. 26, 2011, killing of Cathy Carrasco-Zanini, 58.

The woman's throat was slit in her apartment in the 100 block of North Hamilton Drive, authorities said. Officers conducting a welfare check at the apartment found the woman's body.
